About Dr. Laurie Mintz

Dr. Laurie Mintz is a feminist author, therapist, professor, and speaker. For over 30 years, Dr. Mintz has also maintained a small private practice, working with both individuals and couples on general and sexual issues. As a tenured professor at the University of Florida, she teaches the Psychology of Human Sexuality. Dr. Mintz has published over 50 research articles in academic journals and six chapters in academic books.

For her book, Becoming Cliterate, Dr. Laurie Mintz has been awarded the 2019 Consumer Book of the Year award by the Society for Sex Therapy and Research and the 2021 Media Award by the Society for the Advancement of Sexula Health. She has also been recognized as one of 50 Distinguished Sexual and Gender Health Revolutionaries by The University of Minnesota Medical School's Program in Human Sexuality (PHS).
